Building EPC reports and certificates

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)

It assigns a rating from A (highly efficient) to G (least efficient), reflecting the building’s energy consumption and operational costs. In the UK, EPCs are mandatory for properties being sold, leased, or newly constructed.

What an EPC does:

Everything You Need to Know About Energy Performance Certificates

Evaluates energy performance:
It examines how effectively a building uses energy, factoring in elements like insulation, heating, and lighting systems.

Assigns a rating:
The A-to-G scale informs prospective buyers or renters about the property’s energy usage and estimated running costs.

Suggests improvements:
EPCs provide recommendations for enhancing energy efficiency, such as upgrading insulation or adopting more efficient heating solutions.

Valid for a decade:
An EPC remains valid for 10 years from its issuance date.

Mandatory for sales and rentals:
UK law requires an EPC for properties being sold or rented.
